It's a tale some may have heard before - you're ripped from your homeworld and dropped into a void between dimensions to be Dealt With. Fates usually take this moment to commune with you in otherworldly whispers of some glorious higher purpose; this time, however, you're greeted by some guy in a sweater vest.

"Welcome to Freesia City," the guy says, adjusting his really cool sunglasses. "It's a bit of a mess, but that's why you're here. You'll be fighting shadow monsters to stop them taking over the world. Try not to die."

He flips through a notebook covered in glittery cat stickers, makes a thoughtful noise and jabs at one of the pages, and the last thing you remember is wondering why he thought those awful sunglasses were a good idea before you wake up lying on your back on the warm pavement. You feel pretty magical, but not necessarily very happy, and the sunny city welcomes you with the sound of a car horn blaring. You're in the middle of the road, and the locals already don't think much of you.

The light needs you. The shadows want you. Maybe, right now, you just kind of feel like ignoring them and getting ice cream. It's all the same to us.
