Aaron experimentally tried to send his own shadows down the cane, trying to dissipate it. Whether it worked or not would remain to be seen, expecially since his attentions were already divided between being angry, keeping himself anchored to the ground, and making sure the covering on his hands kept the sharp edge of the cane off.
